What is Net Zero?

In October 2020, Lowestoft Town Council committed to being a 'Net Zero' authority by 2030.  The UK Government has pledged to be 'Net Zero' by 2050 alongside many other countries around the world.

'Net Zero' refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas produced and the amount removed from the atmosphere. 'Net Zero' is achieved when emissions do not exceed the amount taken away.

To help everyone understand more about 'Net Zero' and how we can all contribute to this target, Uswitch have created an interactive guide to show on what being 'Net Zero' means.
