There are currently two vacancies available. 

Facilities and Contracts Manager

  • £40,221-£55,325 p.a. (depending on qualifications and experience)

We are a large town council with a significant and varied portfolio of assets. We are looking for a highly experienced and competent manager to be responsible for all health and safety compliance in our buildings and open spaces which include a town hall, theatre, community halls and many parks and play areas and to develop a programme of monitoring and systems management. As we continue to deliver a programme of investment and improvements, you will also assess condition surveys and budgets, prepare project specifications, seek quotations and manage contractors to deliver high quality project outcomes.

You will need several years’ experience in facilities/asset management delivery including knowledge of building industry standards. You will hold a suitable Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH National General Certification or equivalent) and be competent in the use of asset management software and systems. Experience in writing project specifications and project management is also sought.

Sports Development Officer

  • £23,500-£25,545 p.a. (depending on qualifications and experience)
  • Two-Year Fixed-Term contract

This newly created role will develop and expand the Town Council’s free to use policy for sports venues across the town. We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to administer our LTA awarded newly refurbished Parks Tennis Courts (16 tennis courts, eight pickle ball courts across three venues) and to expand participation in tennis and all sports playable at our facilities. The role will also include managing the match bookings and community events held at our football and cricket pitches and bowling greens aiming to increase participation in physical activity by all sectors of our community with a specific focus on hard to reach groups.

You will have relevant degree level qualifications in sports management, exercise, public health or related field (or equivalent work experience).An existing Sports Coaching qualification, or willingness to complete the LTA Tennis Assistant qualification, is desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse individuals and groups and a passion for improving individual’s health and wellbeing through physical activity are essential.
