On 24th February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine in a majorĀ escalationĀ of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. The invasion has caused tens of thousands of deaths on both sides and has instigated Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II.

To mark the one year anniversary of this, Lowestoft Town Council will be raising the Ukrainian Flag at Lowestoft Town Hall on Friday 24th February 2023, at 12noon.

A short ceremony will take place at Compass Street Pocket Park, just opposite the Town Hall.

Lowestoft Town Council would like to express their thanks to Froggy Hire Ltd for their help in raising the Ukrainian Flag, and to Orbit Housing for their kind permission to use Compass Street Pocket Park.
