Up above Sparrows Nest and perched upon a cliff sits the beautiful Belle Vue Park. When opened in 1874, Belle Vue was the first free public park in Lowestoft and its layout has remained unaltered since then.

The park is home to the Royal Naval Patrol Service memorial which was erected in 1953 to replace the bandstand that had been demolished in 1952. The memorial commemorates the lives of almost 2400 officers of the Royal Naval Patrol Service who have “no grave but the sea”.
