It's shanty time!

An evening of fabulously fishy fun is in store as the Lowestoft Longshoremen come to their home town for an evening of Sea Shanties in support of the Fishermen’s Mission. This charity concert will see one of the top sea shanty groups in the region perform traditional songs of the sea.

The concert takes place on Friday 8th November 2019 at the Lowestoft Community Church, The Depot, 8 Hadenham Road, Lowestoft, NR33 7NF and starts at 7:30.

Peter Bullard from the Lowestoft Longshoremen sets the scene,

“It’s always exciting to sing our sea shanties in Lowestoft itself and this concert will be extra special as it is in aid of our local fishermen’s charity.”

The Fishermen’s Mission provides a lifeline of emergency and welfare support to active and retired UK fishermen and their families, including those in Lowestoft and around the East Anglian coastline.

Tim Jenkins, Lowestoft Fishermen’s Mission Senior Superintendent comments,

“We are delighted to partner with the Lowestoft Longshoremen at this special concert, raising funds to help those in need in our local fishing community.”
